NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Senior defender
Emmy Pascal (Lorton, Va.) of the No.10 Yale women's lacrosse team has been named as a nominee for the Tewaaraton Award. The Tewaaraton committee announced the 25 nominees Thursday. The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top female college lacrosse player in the United States.
Pascal has been on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List for two seasons; this is her first time as a nominee. So far this year she has also been named a midseason and preseason All-American by ILWomen and a preseason All-American by USA Lacrosse. She was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week Mar. 23.
Yale's captain, Pascal has started all 13 games for a Bulldog defense that currently ranks No. 2 nationally in scoring defense (6.54 goals allowed per game). She leads the Ivy League in caused turnovers (31) and is tied for fourth in the Ivy League in ground balls (32).
Pascal is a graduate of St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School.
Five finalists for the Tewaaraton Award will be announced in early May. The recipient will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season.
This is the second year in a row Yale has had a nominee for the Tewaaraton Award. Last year
Fallon Vaughn '25 was a nominee.
