NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's track and field team split up for two meets Friday, with a pair of Bulldog heptathletes starting competition at UConn while a pair of runners wrapped up competition at Wake Forest.
At the Wake Forest Invitational, senior
Linde Fonville provided a highlight Friday night with a time of 4:19.72 in the 1500m. That moves her into fifth on Yale's all-time list in that event – ahead of
Kate Grace '11 (4:20.77). Fonville placed second in the 1500m Invite 2 Friday, trailing only Ohio's Ellie Greenwell (4:16.92).
Earlier in the day, junior
Daniella Henderson ran a time of 4:27.57 to finish second in the 1500m Open 5.
At the UConn Northeast Challenge, competition got underway in the heptathlon. After four events, senior
Makayla White is fifth with 2822 points and
Alyssa Anderson is seventh with 2455 points. UConn's Ruby Tillson leads with 3304 points.
White placed sixth in the 100mH with a time of 15.15, just ahead of Anderson (15.81). White placed fourth in the high jump (1.53m) and Anderson was sixth (1.44m). White placed third in the shot put (10.19m) and Anderson placed eighth (9.09m). White placed fifth in the 200m (25.93) and Anderson placed seventh (27.24). (Note: neither Anderson nor White competed on Saturday as the heptathlon concluded).
Also on Saturday, Yale hosts the Mark Young Invitational.
