PHILADELPHIA – Competition got underway Thursday at the Penn Relays for the Yale women's track and field team. The historic meet, which runs through Saturday, is the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States. It typically attracts more than 17,000 competitors and 100,000 spectators.
Yale's top finishes on Thursday were:
- Sophomore Zoe Martonfi, 10th in the 3000m steeplechase (10:16.68, fourth on Yale's all-time list)
- First-year Phoebe Benun, 11th in the 3000m steeplechase (10:17.12, fifth on Yale's all-time list)
- Junior Gloria Guerrier, 16th in the 400m hurdles (59.02, tying her own previous mark for third on Yale's all-time list)
