HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – The Yale women's crew team continued its competition at the Henley Royal Regatta on Thursday, as the A crew fell to Cambridge University 'B' in the second-round race in the Island Challenge Cup on the Henley Course.
"This was another tough race for us in the 2V mixed lineup," said
Will Porter, the YWC Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "They were very excited and never seemed to settle in and get the boat underneath them. They stayed high and never really sat down into a strong, powerful base rhythm. It's a tough way to end a good season for them. Six members of that crew are coming back to Yale, and they need to take this experience and turn it into a positive for next year."
Cambridge University 'A' finished in 7:00 to hold off the Bulldogs and secure the comeback victory by a half a length.
The Bulldogs will return to action at Henley on Friday, July 3, where the A entry in the Bridge Challenge Plate will face Leander Club at 9:45 am ET.
