NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's soccer team dropped its season opener to Quinnipiac on Friday evening at Reese Stadium. The Bobcats overcame a 3-1 deficit, scoring three second-half goals to defeat the Bulldogs 4-3 in a back-and-forth game. Quinnipiac forward Taehyeon Lim scored three goals and tallied one assist.
With the victory, Quinnipiac improved to 2-1 overall. Yale dropped to 0-1.
"As you can imagine, I was really pleased with the first half," said
Kylie Stannard, the 5K Corral Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "I can't remember the last time we scored three goals in a half, but it shows this team can create and score goals. We executed exactly as planned in the first half. We put ourselves on the back foot much too early in the second half with some poor defensive positioning and really poor clearances. If we manage the start of the second half better, it's a completely different story."
"Still, we had chances to put the game away and didn't, and then got far too stretched and opened up too many holes that allowed Quinnipiac to have far too much time and space," Stannard said.

"The guys worked really hard and did a lot of great things. Now we need to focus on some great recovery, and we will fix a few things to be more disciplined at managing games," Stannard said.
