Yale Heads Back North For Stony Brook Invitational This
Weekend
Yale-Stetson Box Score
DELAND, Fla. – Stetson's Patricia Wilson Field has
been named the top softball facility in the nation twice this
decade. It appears the field could get some postseason use this
spring. Amanda Lindsey had two hits, including a three-run home
run, to lead Stetson to an 8-0 victory over Yale on Monday. The
victory was the Hatters' 15th of the young season.
Nicole Peltz pitched a complete game for Stetson, allowing only
one hit, an infield single to Kayla Kuretich leading off the fifth
inning. Ashley Sloan was the only other Bulldog to reach base. She
walked leading off the game.
The Hatters jumped on the board in the first inning when Katelyn
Perna walked with the bases loaded.
Stetson added another run in the second and then scored three
times in the third with the help of a pair of Yale errors.
A nifty double play turned by shortstop Meg Johnson helped keep
the Hatters off the scoreboard in the fourth inning, but
Lindsey's three-run homer to centerfield ended the game in
the sixth.
Kuretich went the distance in the circle for the Bulldogs and
struck out three.
Yale (0-5) heads to the Stony Brook Invitational on Long Island
this weekend. Action gets under on Friday when the Bulldogs play
Stony Brook at 11 a.m. and Quinnipiac at 3 p.m.
