Polan Produces Triple-Double in Loss
Despite four individual double-digit kill performances and a
triple-double from Kendall
Polan, the Yale women's volleyball team dropped a 3-2 (15-25,
25-23, 21-25, 25-21,15-8) decision at Albany on Saturday
night. Polan tallied 34 assists, 17 kills and 10 digs for the
Bulldogs, who lost in Albany after defeating the Great Danes last
night in New Haven.

Reetz each had 17 kills, and Haley
Wessels added 13 in the loss for Yale, which will begin Ivy
League on Friday at Brown. The Bulldogs, now 6-5 on the
season, won the first set 25-15 and later took a 2-1 lead into the
fourth before dropping the final two sets.
In the fifth set, Albany produced a .400 team hitting percentage
and won 15-8. Casey Wright (5 solo blocks) and Gabby
Whitworth had 14 kills apiece for Albany, which improved to 9-5 on
the season.
The Bulldogs hit .284 for the match, including .472 in the third
set, but struggled to an .045 percentage in the deciding fifth
game. Kerry
Clavadetscher added 30 assists for Yale.
Cordell added 23 digs, while Kelly
Ozurovich (16 kills) and Reetz (12 kills) also stood out on the
defense end for Yale, who played its final non-conference match of
the season.
Yale plays at Brown on Friday. The match is
scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in Providence.
