Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Mollie Rogers and Kelly Johnson both had 11 kills, but it wasn't enough on Saturday night.
Yale lost 3-0 to Harvard. Both teams are tied in the Ivy standings with four matches left.
The scores of the match were 26-24, 25-22 and 25-15.
The first set went down to the wire and Yale's defense kept the set close.
Tori Shepherd's out-stretched arms kept a ball in play that eventually led to a kill by Jesse Ebner to give Yale a 7-4 lead. Shepherd had eight digs.
Later in the set, Harvard's Jennifer Schults blasted an attack that was kept alive by Maddie Rudnick, who finished with a match-high 20 digs. Rudnick's eventually led to a Rogers kill to tie the set at 12.
The Bulldogs (12-7, 8-2 Ivy) took the lead after Karlee Fuller and Maya Midzik put an attack from Paige Kebe back over the net. Yale led 19-18.
Harvard (15-4, 8-2 Ivy) stormed back to score five of the next six points to take a 23-20 lead. The Bulldogs fought back.
Kaitlyn Gibbons and Rogers went back-to-back with kills to cut the deficit to one. Harvard's Kathleen Wallace, who had a match-high 12 kills, responded with a kill.
Facing set point, Rogers tallied a kill and the Bulldogs followed to force an attack error to tie the set at 24 before Harvard scored the final two points.
In the second set, Yale fell behind 8-4. Then, Lucy Tashman entered the game and Yale came back.
Tashman had three kills in six swings midway through the set. It started with swing down the right side for a point. After a Harvard attack error, Tashman had another kill to cut Harvard's lead to one. On the next point, Tashman combined with Johnson for a block assists to tie the set at eight.
The Bulldogs chased the Crimson most of the set and kept it close. Rogers placed a kill down the left side, then Ebner painted the back line with a kill to cut the deficit to 18-17.
On the next point, Rogers' dig went to Kelsey Crawford, who set up Johnson to tie the set.
Johnson and Claire Feeley had consecutive kills, then Midzik followed with an ace to tie the set at five. The Crimson scored 11 of the next 15 points.
The Bulldogs close out their road portion of the Ivy League schedule next weekend with matches at Columbia and Cornell.
