Two-Run Fourth Inning Propels Yale To Victory

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Yale made the most of its opportunities to earn a very impressive road victory at San Diego. Camille Weisenbach had two hits and scored a run as the Bulldogs knocked off the Toreros 3-2 at the USD Softball Complex.

Yale (3-8) snapped a 1-1 tie by scoring twice in the fourth inning. Lauren Delgadillo started the rally with a single to left. Pinch runner Allie Souza advanced to second on a Weisenbach single, and both runners moved up on Carlin Hagmaier's sacrifice bunt. Sydney Ginsberg then hit a grounder that was misplayed by USD's first baseman, allowing both runners to score.

Lauren's Kane's home run leading off the sixth brought San Diego within one, but freshman Terra Jerpbak came on to record the final five outs to earn her first career save.

Lindsay Efflandt started in the circle and allowed two earned runs to earn the victory.

Yale had taken a 1-0 lead in the third on an Allison Skinner double that scored Sydney Glover.

The Toreros (9-16) tied it with a run in the bottom of the fifth.

After a day off on Thursday, the Bulldogs start action in Cal State Northridge's Tournament on Friday. Yale plays Idaho State at 8:30 a.m. PDT and then meets Loyola Marymount at 11 a.m.
