NEW HAVEN, Conn. – In its first home tournament of the season, the Yale men's golf team sits atop the leaderboard at the Macdonald Cup after two rounds of play. The Bulldogs carded a 4-over, 564 performance on Saturday as they lead second-place Stirling by two strokes heading into Sunday's third and final round.
The Elis placed three golfers in the top 10 overall including junior Eoin Leonard, senior Henry Cassriel and junior James Nicholas. Stirling's Jordan Sundborg and Robert Foley are locked in a tie for first after both golfers tallied a two round composite score of 138 to put them at 2-under for the tournament.
Yale's B team, composed of underclassmen, is in eighth place, one stroke behind Central Connecticut and one stroke ahead of Pennsylvania. Ivy League foes Harvard and Dartmouth are also in third and fourth place respectively.
