It was a strong opening day for Yale women's crew at the Head of the Charles. The Bulldogs were the top collegiate finisher in the Club Eights, posting a time of 16:42.863.

Only the Potomac Rowing Club was faster in 16:36. 662.

"The club eight raced a gritty race," said Will Porter, The Friends of YWC Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "They were pressed from the start from a very good Potomac crew, but just battled for the full course and would not let them pass. I am impressed by the toughness of our club eight."

In addition, Yale's alumnae eight was the fastest crew, posting a time of 16:54.367.

On Sunday, Yale has two entries in the Championship Eight, which is scheduled for a 2:49 p.m. start. Yale crews will be Bow No. 5 and Bow No. 31.
