NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's soccer team has risen to every challenge so far this fall. The Bulldogs, though, may face their stiffest test on Monday when they travel to defending national champion Maryland. Kickoff at Ludwig Field is slated for 7 p.m. BTN Plus has the video.
Here are notes on matchup of two nationally ranked teams
* The Bulldogs (9-0-2, 3-0 Ivy) have won nine straight games, their longest winning streak since the 1935-36 team finished 12-0 and won New England and Intercollegiate championships.
* Yale appears in a pair of national polls, sitting at No. 23 in the College Soccer News top 30 and No. 24 in the United Soccer Coaches top 25.
* The Bulldogs are alone in first place in the Ivy League at 3-0, one game ahead of second-place Dartmouth. Yale beat the Big Green 3-1 at Reese Stadium on Oct. 12. Princeton, Penn, Columbia and Brown are in a four-way tie for third place. All are 1-1-1.
* Yale is coming off a 3-1 win over Cornell on Friday.
Jeremy Haddock, Mark Winhoffer and
Miguel Yuste all scored for the Bulldogs.
* Yale has had success against defending national champions in the past. In the 2002 season opener, the Bulldogs knocked off North Carolina, the 2001 NCAA champs, 2-1. In 1999, Yale also had a memorable season opener, defeating Indiana, the 1998 national champions, 2-1.

SCOUTING MARYLAND
The Terps (7-4-2, 2-1-2) are coming off a 3-0 win over No. 6 Indiana on Friday before a crowd of 4,888 at Ludwig Field. Eric Matzelevich leads Maryland with three goals. The Terps were ranked No. 25 in the nation last week.
