The Women's Sailing Team competed in two events this weekend, the NEISA Women's Single-Handed Championship, and the Regis Bowl. Louisa Nordstrom finished third in the single-handed and the Bulldogs were 5th overall at the Regis.

The NEISA Women's Single-Handed Championship was hosted by Yale at the Niantic Bay Yacht Club. Representing Yale, was senior skipper Nordstrom, who has sailed at the event each year since 2016. On Saturday, seven races were competed in moderate winds of 12-15 knots. On Sunday, Nordstrom climbed into third place over the course of four more races, earning first place on both the first and lace races of the day. Nordstrom's impressive performance qualifies her to sail at the Single-Handed National Championship to be held in Santa Barbara in November. This weekend is the third time she has qualified for the Single-Handed Championship.

Racing for the Regis Bowl took place on the Charles River this weekend. The event was hosted by Boston University at the Harvard Boathouse. The event was first-year skippers, Megan Grimes and Emily Lau's first collegiate regatta. With notoriously shifty conditions, the Charles River can sometimes be a challenging venue. Grimes noted, "The Charles lived up to its reputation and I learned about managing fleets and decision making in shifty conditions". The team took the event as an opportunity to learn and improved significantly over the course of the weekend. Conditions on Saturday were windy and wet. The second day of racing was entirely different with patchy and inconsistent light to medium wind from the West.

The weekend was a great start to the season for the Elis and offers a promising look at what will be ahead this fall.
