STATESBORO, Ga. – The Yale Men's Golf Team gets into the swing of things this spring by playing in the 2020 Schenkel Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club this weekend. The par-72 course has hosted the tournament named after legendary ABC broadcaster Chris Schenkel since 1971.
The Bulldogs compete in the 54-hole event on this 6,962-yard course Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tee times for rounds one and two are 9 to 11 a.m., while Sunday's final round has an 8 to 10 a.m. window.
Yale, led by junior captain
Teddy Zinsner, is part of a 14-team field that includes Alabama-Birmingham, Army, Campbell, College of Charleston, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Kentucky, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Troy and Virginia Tech.
"The team is very excited about kicking off the spring campaign at such a terrific event, one we have never played," said Yale Head Coach
Colin Sheehan. "We feel fortunate to be invited and competing against the field. The boys have taken advantage of the mild winter in Connecticut, as they spent more time than any other year in memory at the Yale course since returning in mid-January for the spring semester."
