NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Closing out a very successful indoor track and field season, two members of the Yale women's track and field team will compete at this year's ECAC Championships in Boston. While many of the team's sprinters, middle distance and distance runners are turning their attention toward the upcoming outdoor season, Aliya Boshnak and Libby McMahon will represent the Bulldogs on the indoor track one final time, this weekend at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
Boshnak will be competing in the 400 meters after setting her indoor personal best in the event at the BU track less than a month ago. Trying to better her current time of 56.42, Boshnak will be competing in the 400 meter trials on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. with hopes of qualifying into Sunday's finals as well. In addition to competing in the open 400 meters at last weekend's Ivy championships, she also ran the 400 leg of the team's second-place Distance Medley Relay, preparing her well for the two days of competition she could face with both prelims and finals this weekend.
Also competing in her specialty event, McMahon will take on the 200 meter dash this Saturday at 3:20 p.m. The sophomore currently sits second on Yale's all-time list in the event, with a blazing time of 24.61 seconds, and will likely have her eye on the school record of 24.47 this weekend. McMahon is also carrying with her momentum from last weekend, where she placed sixth in the 200 meters at the Ivy League championships in a time of 25.12 seconds.
Live results can be found here once the meet begins, with Boshnak kicking off competition for the Bulldogs at 1:05 p.m. Saturday.
