The Yale women's fencing team opened the season with several strong performances at the Garret Penn State Open in State College, Pa.
 
The Bulldogs had three top-10 finishes, led by Erica Hooshi, who placed eighth in foil. Emme Zhou was one spot behind in ninth in foil.
 
In epee, Linda Liu had Yale's best finish, placing 10^th. Christina Zozulya was 15^th.
 
Sydney Hirsch finished 15^th in saber.
 
Next up for the Bulldogs is the Brandeis Invitational on Dec. 4-5.
