NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale University Athletics and the Yale Women's Athletic Network (YWAN) is proud to announce a year-long celebration of both the 50
th Anniversary of Yale Women's Varsity Athletics and of Title IX during the 2022-23 athletic season.
The Yale Athletics Department alongside the YWAN is in preparations to welcome all women athletes to Yale for a weekend of celebration and interactions with current student-athletes, programming discussions and reunions in the Fall of 2022.
This timing corresponds with the 50th anniversary of the awarding of the first Yale Varsity Y's to women in 1972-73 and the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Title IX legislation.

new website.
The 50
th anniversary logo has strong ties and significance to women's varsity athletics at Yale. There are five sides, one to represent each decade of competition and 18 "rays" in the background, one to represent each women's team at Yale.
Yale Athletics appreciates the strong support of YWAN. Its purpose is to network alumnae and student-athletes, and raise significant financial support for the next generations of Yale women's student-athletes.
The YWAN committee reviews the activities and progress of the five subcommittees. These meetings are open to anyone on any of the subcommittees and are chaired by former ice hockey player, Maura Grogan '78,

YWAN is supported by Yale's Women's Intercollegiate Sports Endowment & Resource (W.I.S.E.R.). Founded in 2002 by nine women's athletics alumnae, the group is dedicated to supporting women's varsity athletics at Yale.
Its founding donors chose the endowment to demonstrate their passion for women's athletics and their desire to honor their proud legacy at Yale. Donations to WISER directly enhance and support the experiences of women athletes at Yale through a broad array of activities, including wellness, leadership and personal development. In the spirit of Yale's tradition of educating future leaders, resources from this endowment are also used to cultivate connections between athletes and alumnae.
