The Bulldogs will compete this weekend in the Dog Pound Challenge hosted by UConn in Storrs, Conn. The two-day tournament starts Friday and features the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Bryant and host UConn.
Riding a four-match win streak, Yale captured the Stony Brook Invitational last weekend and defeated St. Thomas, Stony Brook and Tarleton State to improve to 5-1 on the young season. Gigi Barr was named tournament MVP, while Bonnie Bostic and Mila Yarich were named to the all-tournament team.
- The Bulldogs competed in UConn's Dog Pound Invitational in 2016. Yale went 2-1 that weekend.
- Gigi Barr hit .300, .476 and .455 respectively in Yale's three victories last weekend. She's hitting .342 for the season and leads the team with 13 total blocks.
- Bonnie Bostic leads the team with 54 kills, while Barr is second with 51.
- Maile Somera leads the team 105 digs and is averaging 5.25 per set.
- The Bulldogs produced a season-high 10 aces in the victory over Tarleton State last Saturday.

Scouting NJIT
The Highlanders enter the weekend 1-8 overall. Last weekend, NJIT dropped all three matches including a 3-0 decision to Brown. Yale defeated NJIT in its last meeting back in 2010.
Scouting Bryant
Bryant owns a 5-6 overall mark to start the weekend. Bryant leads the NEC in total assists (464) and kills (510). They also lead in assist rate (11.90 per set) and kill rate (13.08 per set).
Scouting UConn
The Huskies (5-4) went 2-1 at the Dartmouth Invitational last weekend, including a 3-1 loss to the Big Green. Graduate student McKayla Wuensch was named to the Dartmouth Invitational All-Tournament and collected Big East Honor Roll honors after averaging 10.3 assists per set over the weekend.
