NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's basketball team hosts Drexel Sunday (12:00 p.m.,

Last Game
Yale (4-6, 0-0 Ivy League) fell behind 24-10 after the first quarter at Quinnipiac Wednesday, and a late rally was not enough to overcome a deficit that grew to as many as 23 points in the third. Sophomore guard
Nyla McGill (Charlotte, N.C.) had a double-double (15 points, 13 rebounds) in the 75-59 loss.
Homecoming
Sunday is just Yale's third home game of the season, but it starts a stretch of four straight home games. The Bulldogs are 24-11 (.685) at Lee Amphitheater since the start of the 2018-19 season.
Capstraw Emerges as a Sharp Shooter
First-year guard
Kiley Capstraw (West Orange, N.J.) is shooting .472 from three-point territory, a figure that would lead the Ivy League if she met the NCAA's requirement of averaging at least two made per game. She has hit 17 threes in 10 games. Princeton guard Grace Stone leads the league, shooting .444. Capstraw's .885 free throw percentage would also lead the league, but there the NCAA requirement is an average of 2.5 made free throws per game. She is at 2.3 (23 in 10 games). Harvard guard Harmoni Turner leads the league at .879.
McGill Featured in The Next
Sophomore guard
Nyla McGill (Charlotte, N.C.) was recently
featured in The Next as one of "Eight Ivy League Players Who Have Surprised This Season". McGill has already played more minutes this year than she did all of last year (274 to 114), improving her points per game from 0.7 to 7.8, her rebounds per game from 0.7 to 8.7 and her assists per game from 1.0 to 1.9. She leads the Ivy League in double-doubles this season with three.
Clark Giveth, Clark Taketh Away
Junior guard
Jenna Clark (Pittsburgh, Pa.) is more than just the Ivy League leader in assists per game (5.2). She is also Yale's leading scorer (10.8 points per game) and tied her season high with four steals Wednesday at Quinnipiac. She ranks fifth in the Ivy League in steals per game (2.1). Clark is on the
Watch List for the Nancy Lieberman Award as the top point guard in the country.
Scouting Drexel
Drexel (5-2, 0-0 CAA) had a four-game winning streak snapped last Sunday with a 69-49 loss at Saint Joseph's. That win streak included three games where the Dragons outscored their opponents by at least 13 points. Drexel is second nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.83), with guard Maura Hendrixson sixth in the nation in assists per game (7.0). The Dragons were picked No. 1 in the CAA preseason poll, having won the CAA regular season championship last year.
