RALEIGH, N.C. -- The first day of competition at the Raleigh Relays was quick for the Yale women's track and field team Thursday, as sophomore Eileen Yang was the only Yalie to compete. Yang put up a good fight against competition from larger state schools in the pole vault and came away with a solid fourth-place finish. She vaulted to a height of 3.75m, good enough to tie for third on Yale's all-time outdoor list with Catherine Shih '15 and Emily Urciuoli '12. The University of Washington's Delaney Ezeji-Okoye won the event with a vault of 3.90m.
The action will pick back up Friday with the women's discus throw, high jump, 100m, 1500m and 5000m events. The meet will be streamed on ESPN and live results can be found here.
