NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale's first match at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in more than a month was quite the success. The Bulldogs cruised to a 6-1 victory over UMass.
Doubles victories from the teams of
Rhea Shrivastava and
Mirabelle Brettkelly and
Kathy Wang and
Caroline Dunleavy gave Yale a 1-0 lead.
In singles,
Chelsea Kung won her match at No. 1 in a super tiebreaker.
Jessie Gong had a tough battle in the first set of her match at No. 2, winning in a tiebreaker, and then took the second set 6-0. Shrivastava, Brettkelly and Dunleavy were also winners in singles.
Next up for the Bulldogs is a trip to Florida where they will face Florida Atlantic (Mar. 20), Florida International (Mar. 22) and Central Florida (Mar. 24).
