NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Since its last games at 5K Corral Field at DeWitt Family Stadium, the Yale softball team has seen its bats come alive in a big way. During its four-game road trip, Yale batted .287 and hit nine home runs. Most importantly, the offensive outburst helped the Bulldogs take two out of three games from Dartmouth last weekend in a key Ivy League series.

This weekend, Yale (5-14, 3-3 Ivy) hopes to treat the home fans to more offensive fireworks during a three-game series with Brown. The teams play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday. The first pitch on both days is slated for 12:30 p.m.

Carolyn Skotz, who is riding a six-game hitting streak, and Grayson Vives, who has a hit in five straight games, have been among Yale's hottest hitters. Vives homered in two of the three games at Dartmouth last weekend. In addition, Maddie Latta, who was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday, has four home runs in her last six games.

In the circle, Nicole Conway earned a victory and a save last weekend against the Big Green.

SCOUTING BROWN

The Bears (9-14, 1-5 Ivy) are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Bryant on Wednesday. Katie O'Leary finished the doubleheader against Bryant with eight RBIs, including seven in the second game of the day, going 3-for-4 with two doubles. O'Leary now leads the team in batting average (.375), RBI (15), and on base percentage (.519). The senior is also tied for the team lead with four doubles and has two home runs.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Bulldogs are back home to host Quinnipiac in a non-league game next Wednesday. The first pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
