CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Yale coed sailing team took second place at the Captain Hurst Bowl this weekend, finishing just behind the host team, Harvard. The regatta is the Bulldog's third to last of the Fall season.
Sailors completed 12 races across two days on the notoriously tricky Charles River. Throughout the weekend, the breeze was quite strong and shifty, switching back and forth between the east and the west. Despite these difficult conditions, the Elis were successful both overall and in individual divisions. In A Division, skipper
Teddy Nicolosi and crew Ashley Highland came in second place, just behind the Harvard A team. Skipper
Carmen Cowles and crew
Carmen Berg also held their own in B division, taking third place.
The coed team also competed at the Captain Nevins Regatta this weekend at King's Point. They took 10th place overall.
Next weekend, the Bulldogs will sail the Atlantic Coast Championships at St. Mary's University and the Oberg Trophy at MIT.
