Women's Sailing Dominates In Home Regatta

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale women's sailing team won its home regatta over the weekend. The event was the team's second competition at Yale Corinthian Yacht Club in a row after finishing fourth at the ACC Championships last weekend.

Conditions at YCYC were uncharacteristically tricky. On Saturday, wind built throughout the day and eventually reached over 15 knots. Windy conditions continued on Sunday as well, and became shifty and puffy.

Despite this, the Yale women were dominant throughout the weekend. Not only did they win the regatta by over 30 points, but teams won both divisions; Skipper Carmen Cowles and crews Megan Grimes and Elle Sykes in A division and skipper Emma Cowles and crew Carmen Berg in B division each won their divisions by exactly seven points.

Next weekend, the Bulldogs will sail their final event of the season, the Urn Trophy at Harvard.
