BRANFORD, Conn. — The Yale women's sailing team will compete at home this weekend for the Yale Women's Team Race. The regatta, which is interconference, will allow them to compete with their most competitive rivals just weeks before their Team Race National Championship in late April.
The weather should be fairly mild all weekend — a first for this spring season. On Saturday, the wind is predicted to stay around seven knots, with occasional puffs of up to 10-15. The breeze should be coming from the North consistently all day and the temperature will stay between 40 and 50 degrees. On Sunday, the conditions will be fairly similar — 6-8 knots, gusts of around 10. But unlike Saturday, on Sunday the breeze will may clock eastward and then south throughout the afternoon, making team racing conditions volatile throughout the day. The Bulldogs will seek to utilize their experience at the Yale Corinthian Yacht Club venue to have an advantage over their interconference rivals.
