The Yale softball team will square off against archrival Harvard in the opening game of the inaugural Ivy League Tournament. The three-day event will be held from Thursday, May 11 – Saturday, May 13 in Princeton, N.J. The Tigers earned hosting duties after finishing as the top team in the Ivy League regular season.
 
All games will be streamed live on ESPN+ and available for international viewing on Stretch Internet.
 
Tournament Format
Thursday
Game 1: (1) Princeton vs. (4) Columbia, 12 p.m.
Game 2: (2) Harvard vs. (3) Yale, 2:30 p.m.
 
Friday
Game 3: Winners of Games 1 and 2, 10 a.m.
Game 4: Losers of Game 1 and Game 2, 12:30 p.m.
Game 5: Winner of Game 4 vs. Loser of Game 3, 3 p.m.
 
Saturday
Game 6: Winners of Games 3 and 5, 12 p.m.
Game 7: Rematch of Game 6, If Game 5 winner wins Game 6, 2:30 p.m.
 
The winner of the Ivy League Tournament will learn its NCAA regional destination Sunday at 7 p.m. in a selection show broadcast on ESPN2.

Scouting Yale
  • The Bulldogs are 20-21 overall and 11-10 in the Ivy League heading into the postseason tournament.
  • Willa Ferrer is leading the team in batting average (.333), hits (39), and is second on the team in RBI (25) and slugging percentage (.538).
  • Lauren Perren, who led the Ivy in RBI and home runs for most of the season, leads the team in both categories with 33 and eight, respectively.
  • Alex Perren is riding a six-game hitting streak. The sophomore has 10 hits in that span and a .555 hitting percentage.
  • In the circle, Emma Taylor and Nicole Conway each have seven wins apiece. Taylor has pitched the most innings for Yale with 89.1 IP to her credit with 65 strikeouts.

  • Anna Reed and Riley Flynn have the most appearances in the circle for Harvard with 22 and 25 appearances, respectively. Reed has a 9-7 record, while Flynn is 6-1. Both have pitched in the neighborhood of 84 innings each.
