NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale coed sailing team competed in a pair of regattas over the weekend, recording a pair of top-two finishes to kick off the Fall campaign.
The Bulldogs hosted the Harry Anderson Jr. Regatta at the McNay Family Sailing Center, where two squads competed, taking first and third place in the event. Yale also raced for the Pine Trophy, hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy, placing second overall.
At the Harry Anderson Jr. Regatta, the Bulldogs first team scored 81 total points, edging out Coast Guard by a single point to win the event. "Bulldogs 2" placed third but were particularly impressive in Division B, scoring 37 points, the second best total of the day. Skippers

Emma Cowles led the way for Yale. The scheduled second day of racing was called off on Sunday because of inclement weather.
The Bulldogs took second for the Pine Trophy on the Thames River in New London finishing just behind Boston College's 26 points. Yale scored 29 points during the two-day regatta.
