Women's Golf Hosts the Yale Invitational This Weekend

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's golf team will host the 2023 Yale Invitational at the Yale Golf Course this weekend.

Five things to know:

The Lineup: Alexis Kim, Selena Tang, Mia Sessa, Ashley Au, and Joanne Lee will compete for the Bulldogs as a team. Ashley Yen will compete as an individual. Lee's spot in the lineup marks the first appearance of her collegiate career.
About the Course: Charles Blair Macdonald, renowned golf course architect, champion golfer, and co-founder of the USGA, supervised the plans for a 18-hole golf course. With a budget of $400,000, Macdonald, in collaboration with Seth Raynor, designed a masterpiece which opened for play in 1926. In the last year, the course has been named One of America's 100 Greatest Public Courses, a Top-10 Connecticut Course You Can Play, and was ranked No. 1 among college golf courses. The course has been home to six NCAA Regional Tournaments, Nike Connecticut Open, two USGA Junior National Events, and every significant state championship.
About the Tournament: Due to weather, the shotgun start will begin at 12 p.m. from New Haven.
Who's Competing: Competing in the tournament alongside the Bulldogs in the field of 13 are Boston College, Columbia, Dartmouth, DePauw, Fairfield, Florida Gulf Coast, Harvard, Iowa, Little Rock, Penn, Quinnipiac, and Williams.
