PHILADELPHIA, Pa - The Yale University women's tennis team saw two individuals and one doubles duo move ahead to semifinal round action during the Ivy League ITA Masters Qualifying event.
Singles Results
- Shyla Aggarwal kicked off the day with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) victory over Columbia's Emily Baek. A second consecutive straight set win followed with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over Isabella Chhiv of Princeton. Aggarwal will face Alice Ferlito of Princeton next.
- Ann Wright Guerry registered a pair of singles wins on Saturday. She first defeated Sam Grosjean of Dartmouth, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. From there, she needed only two sets to dispatch Eva Elbaz of Princeton, 6-1, 6-3. Wright Guerry has now advanced to Sunday's semifinals.
- Julia Werdiger split her two matches on the day. She opened with a 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) thrilling win over Penn's Gavriella Smith. However, she lost her next match to Ferlito, 6-4, 6-3.
Doubles Results
- After a first round bye, Aggarwal and Erin Ha captured an 8-3 victory over Elise Wong and Grosjean of Dartmouth.They will next face Princeton's Pearlie Zhang and Chhiv.
The Bulldogs return to action for day three of the Ivy League ITA Masters Qualifying event on Sunday.
