Julia Werdiger and
Mirabelle Brettkelly each collected a pair of victories as the Yale University women's tennis team opened play at the Fordham Invitational today.
Werdiger was victorious in Draw A singles action, while Bretkelly claimed a straight set win in Draw B. Together, they teamed up for a 6-2 victory in Draw AA doubles action.
Singles Results
- Werdiger collected a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Stony Brook's Mia Palladino in Draw A. She will face Nevena Kolarevic of Fordham on Saturday at 10 a.m.
- Brettkelly downed Camila Barrera Aguirre of Providence, 6-2, 6-4 in Draw B action. She will take on Army's Jenna Sabile on Saturday at 10 a.m.
- In Draw C, Rebecca Lynn breezed past Stonehill's Madison Warren, 6-1, 6-2. Next up for Lynn is Army's Julia Kelly on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Doubles Results
- Werdiger and Brettkelly collected a 6-2 triumph over Palladino and Elena Lobo Corral of Stony Brook in Draw AA. They move on to face Lorraine Bergman and Catalina Padilla Udaeta of Fordham on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
- Lynn and Jamie Kim lost to Lea Forste-Dinell and Amanda Kadiri of Hofstra, 6-4, in Draw BB.
