Collignon Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior attacker Jenna Collignon (Hinsdale, Ill.) of the Yale women's lacrosse team has been named to the 2024 Tewaaraton Award Watch List. The Tewaaraton Foundation announced the list Friday night.

The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top female college lacrosse player in the United States. The award is also given to the top male college lacrosse player in the United States.

So far this year Collignon has already been named Honorable Mention Preseason All-America by ILWomen and USA Lacrosse. She enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2023, earning unanimous first team All-Ivy League recognition and second team IWLCA All-Northeast Region recognition. She finished third in the Ivy League in goals with 53 (tied for seventh on Yale's single-season record list) and second in points with 65 (seventh on Yale's single-season record list). She was also second in the league in draw controls with 77 (fifth on Yale's single-season record list). She was 25th nationally in goals per game (3.12).

In addition to Collignon's all-region and All-Ivy League honors last year, she also was named to the Tewaaraton Award Women's Watch List and was an Honorable Mention ILWomen Midseason All-American

Collignon is a graduate of Hinsdale Central High, where she was a two-time USA Lacrosse All-American.

Last year the initial Tewaaraton Award Watch List of 50 players was announced Feb. 10. Collignon was among 14 players added to the 2023 Watch List on Mar. 9.

Prior to Collignon last year, the last Yale player to be nominated for the Tewaaraton Award or named to the Watch List was Lauren Taylor '08 in 2007 and 2008. Prior to that, Miles Whitman '04 was on the Watch List for two seasons.

Additions to this year's Watch List will be made in two rounds in March, and the field will be narrowed to 25 nominees Apr. 18. Nominees can be players from the Watch List or not from the Watch List, effectively allowing for a third round of additions.

Five finalists will be announced in early May, and the recipient will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season.

Yale opens the 2024 season at Reese Stadium on Saturday vs. Stanford. Both teams are receiving votes in the national ILWomen/IWLCA Poll.
