Bulldogs in Action at Princeton, UConn Again

PRINCETON, N.J., and STORRS, Conn. -- The Yale women's track and field team competed at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational and the UConn Northeast Challenge on Saturday.

The day got off to a strong start in the 4x100m as a team of Makayla White, Sophie Spokes, Molly Harding and Juliette Kosmont combined for sixth place in a time of 47.26.
White, Spokes and Kosmont all doubled back in the 100m later on, with Kosmont's 12.02 leading the way in seventh overall. They were joined by Mira Thakur, Casia Provencal, Larissa Giles, Caroline Glessing and Sabrina Mellinghoff.
Provencal also went in the 100m hurdles, running a time of 15.44. A strong field followed her in the longer 400m hurdles, with Gloria Guerrier impressing on her way to a 1:02.42 clocking for fourth. Peyton Parker and Lola Isom both ran close behind.
Thakur, Harding, Glessing and Mellinghoff all lined up for the second time as they went in the 200m, with Thakur's 25.23 leading the way just ahead of Harding's 25.25. Also showing their form were Ella Mainwaring Foster and Bridget Vitu.
In the 400m, it was Victoria Guerrier who led the way with a time of 57.09, ahead of Kallista Villatoro's 1:00.56.
Yale continued to impress in the middle distance events, with Cara Joyce's 2:19.14 good enough for second place in a tight 800m race. Behind her, Arielle Moore, Anna Chamberlin and Kylie Goldfarb flexed the Bulldogs' Mid-D depth.
That strength was also on display over the 1500m, where Ruby Barton and Daniella Henderson ran times of 4:49.38 and 4:49.50 respectively, just ahead of Priya Gangadharan.
In the longest event of the day, the 5000m, Marisa Poe impressed on her way to an 18:12.79 for third place.
The Bulldogs also found success in the jumping events, with Abrianna Barrett leaping 1.60m in the high jump, while Sophie Wright and Bharathi Subbiah went 11.57m and 11.39m respectively in the triple jump.
The day rounded out with the 4x400m relay, with Yale's two teams placing seventh and 10th in a competitive field.

Captain Bella Bergloff (40.79m) and Emma Peretti (37.57m) competed in the discus.
Peretti (13.16m) represented Yale in the shot put.
