Coed Sailing Finishes Second at ICSA Fleet Race Nationals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Yale coed sailing team came up just short at the ICSA Open Dinghy National Championship over the weekend, finishing in second place.

After recording a runner-up result in the semifinals on Friday and Saturday, the Bulldogs entered the national finals with high hopes. The squad competed well all weekend, but ultimately finished with 235 points, just eight behind Harvard. Dartmouth, Brown, and Coast Guard rounded out the top five.

In the 'A' division, Yale finished with 121 points and recorded six top-five results including a win in the final race of the day. Jack Egan skippered while Elle Sykes served as crew.

Teddy Nicolosi and Ashley Highland won four races out of the 'B' division and finished in the top five in five other contests.

Yale will graduate several seniors but will return more than a dozen sailors with varsity experience.
