ST. CATHERINES, Canada – It was a strong showing for the Yale women's crew contingent at the U23 World Championships. All four Bulldogs that competed earned top-eight finishes. The highlight was a gold medal for
Harriet Drake-Lee, who sat in the bow seat of the Great Britain eight that finished first by nearly two seconds over the United States eight.
Alexa von der Schulenburg raced in the A final of the four for Switzerland and placed fifth.
Nicole Martinez competed in the single scull for Paraguay and won the B final to place seventh overall.
Lindsey Williams sat in the United States quadruple scull that finished second in the B final and eighth overall.
The championships were held at the Royal Canadian Henley Rowing Course and attracted nearly 1,000 rowers from around the world.
