Yale Sailing Opens Fall Campaign at Three Regattas

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale sailing team kicked off its 2024 Fall campaign at three regattas over the weekend. The coed team operated as a split squad, finishing first for the Pine Trophy hosted by Coast Guard and hosted the Harry Anderson Jr. Regatta racing two boats, placing second and third. The women's team finished seventh for the Toni Deutsch Trophy hosted by MIT.

Yale placed first out of nine teams for the Pine Trophy. The Bulldogs recorded 40 points, winning two races and placing in the top three in five other events. Jack Egan served as the skipper and Emma Cowles, Mathias Reimer and Alex Adams competed as crew.

At the Toni Deutsch Trophy, Yale finished seventh with 213 total points. Dorthothy Mendelblatt and Julia Miller were particularly impressive in the 'A' division with the second-lowest score of the regatta.

At Yale's home event, the Bulldogs sailed two teams, both finishing in the top three.

The Bulldogs will be back in action next weekend at four regattas.
