NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Head coach
Erin Appleman has announced that rising senior
Laurece Abraham has been tabbed to lead the 2026 volleyball squad.
"I'm very excited to have Laurece leading us. She's going to do a great job for her teammates and for Yale Volleyball," said Appleman on her appointment.
This season, Abraham played in all 24 of Yale's games, starting 23 of them. Appearing in 91 sets for the Bulldogs, she tallied 248 kills, good for second on the team. Abraham's .397 hitting percentage led all Bulldogs and was third-bes in the entire Ivy League. After posting a 10-4 conference record, Yale reached its fourth-straight Ivy League Tournament championship game, but ultimately fell to host team Princeton in five sets. Her season culminated in an All-Ivy First Team selection, her second All-Ivy nod overall and first time as a member of the first team.
"I'm really grateful for the trust the coaches and my teammates have placed in me, and I'm excited to step into a role where I can continue to lead. I can't wait to get back in the gym with everyone, put in the work together, and help us grow as a team," said Abraham, a Canton, Mich. native.
