Bulldogs Battle Top Competition at Redwood Shores Challenge

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – The No. 7 Yale heavyweight crew team traveled to the West Coast this weekend to compete in the Redwood Shores Challenge, taking on top-ranked California and No. 8 Stanford.

The Bulldogs performed well on Saturday, claiming victory in three of four races despite windy conditions. Sunday brought near-perfect weather to close out the weekend.

"The trip out to California this weekend was extremely productive," said Mike Gennaro, Craig W. Johnson '68 Head Coach. "Having the opportunity to race three times over two days was a great experience for our oarsmen and that is what they will need to be prepared for Eastern Sprints and the IRA National Championships. We learned a lot about ourselves and identified what we need to do to continue making progress this season."
