NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Victoria M. "Vicky" Chun, Thomas A. Beckett Director of Athletics, has announced two staff promotions: Ian Ballantyne has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Event Management, and Roxanne Garceau has been promoted to Director of Annual Giving.
 
"Ian and Roxanne have both made a strong impact on Yale Athletics," said Chun. "These promotions reflect their hard work, leadership, and commitment to our department and community."
 
Ballantyne joined Yale Athletics in August 2019 as Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations and was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Event Management in July 2021.
 
In addition to overseeing all Yale Athletics sporting events, his expanded responsibilities now include managing concessionaire operations across all athletic venues. He will also continue to serve as the sport administrator for Yale's field hockey, sailing, and men's and women's golf programs.
 
Garceau joined Yale Athletics in September 2023 as Assistant Director for Development. In her role, she has been responsible for annual fundraising, leadership giving, alumni communications, and events for designated associations.
 
Her expanded responsibilities include leading the planning and execution of the annual giving campaign, overseeing all aspects from email and text solicitations to donor challenges. She will also manage and support a network of class volunteers through a new volunteer management platform, while monitoring campaign performance in real time to refine outreach strategies. Additionally, she will oversee the annual communications calendar, strategically coordinating emails, mailings, and volunteer engagement to maximize participation and giving throughout the year.
