NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Senior Hana Strause of the Yale gymnastics team has been named the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Specialist of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning. 

On Sunday's meet at Penn State, Strause put forth strong performances on beam and floor. The senior scored a 9.775 on beam to tie for the third-highest mark in the meet. On floor, she earned a 9.750 to help the Bulldogs post a 48.875 team score on the event.

The Yale gymnastics team will compete in its home opener on Sunday, Jan. 18 against Brown.
