PHILADELPHIA – The Yale men's track and field team competed at the Penn Invitational on Friday at the Ott Center. This one-day meet featured teams from throughout the Northeast, including the Bulldogs' Ivy League rivals Penn and Princeton. Yale's performance was highlighted by event wins in the high jump and weight throw.

Distance

• Senior Kenan Pala placed fourth in the 3000m (8:15.09).

 
Sprints

• Yale had two of the top five in the 60m. Senior Andrew Farr, Yale's captain, took fourth (6.83). First-year Graham Houghton was fifth (6.85). 
• Yale also had two of the top five in the 400m. Sophomore Otis Irwin was third (47.75) and first-year Jozef Miesak was fifth (47.97). Irwin's mark is sixth on Yale's all-time list, while Miesak's is eighth.
• First-year Ethan Johnson was fifth in the 200m (21.93). Princeton's Joey Gant, who was second in the event at indoor Heps in 2025, won with a time of 21.37.

 
Jumps

• Junior Jamaal Darlington won the high jump with a mark of 2.01m, a PR that moves him within .02m of adding his name to Yale's all-time top 10 list in the event. Two of the three jumpers who tied for second (1.96m) behind Darlington were Ivy Leaguers: Penn's Griffin Gammon and Princeton's Robert Ruffini.
• Sophomore Orion Browne placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 14.44m. Justin Kiefel (14.83m), a 2019 all-region triple jumper for Wisconsin, was the only jumper with a better mark.

 
Throws

• Senior Nolan Recker won the weight throw with a mark of 20.71m – .21m better than Princeton's Asher Robbins in second place. Recker was .33m away from his own school record. Senior Jake Sun placed fifth with a mark of 17.91m. Recker, Robbins and Sun are three of the top six returnees in the weight throw from indoor Heps last year.

 
Relays

• The Yale team of Irwin, junior Lucas Mylon, Miesak and Farr won the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:15.55.
