NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior defenseman Rhys Bentham of the Yale men's hockey team has been named the Adapt Nutrition Defender of the Week by ECAC Hockey following a standout weekend on the blue line for the Bulldogs.

Bentham delivered in key moments against two conference rivals, contributing offensively while anchoring Yale's defensive effort. On Friday night against No. 12 Dartmouth, he scored in a 4-4 tie to help the Bulldogs force overtime and a shootout.

He followed with another clutch performance the next evening against Harvard, he netted the game-tying goal in Yale's eventual 3-2 overtime victory.

Bentham's timely scoring and steady presence on the back end were instrumental in the Bulldogs' results including Yale's first win over Harvard since 2018.
