Boyle Earns Ivy Rookie of the Year; Six Bulldogs Named All-Conference

PRINCETON, N.J. -- First-year Molly Boyle of the Yale women's ice hockey team earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors, and six Bulldogs were named to the all-conference teams. The Ivy League announced the awards Wednesday afternoon.

Boyle and senior teammates Carina DiAntonio and Jordan Ray were named to the All-Ivy First Team. Samson Frey and Gracie Gilkyson landed on the second team, while Sylvia Bojarski was the Bulldogs' Academic All-Ivy representative.

Boyle has been a high-impact defender all season for the Bulldogs. The first-year averaged 1.33 points per game and led the league in assists with 20, finishing the regular season at +15. The Scituate, Mass., native played a key role in Yale securing the program's second ECAC Hockey regular-season title, alongside Princeton. She finished the regular season with 27 points, a program record for a defender, and won ECAC weekly honors four times. She is the first Yale player to win a major Ivy League award since Elle Hartje and Jordan Ray won conference Player and Rookie of the Year honors, respectively, in 2023.

DiAntonio had an outstanding year as a first-line winger for the Bulldogs. The senior posted 33 points in 22 ECAC Hockey games, ranking second in the ECAC in both goals and points. DiAntonio closed the regular season on a 17-game point streak while averaging 1.50 points per game, second best in the league. She ranked third in game-winning goals (4). DiAntonio scored 21 goals, the sixth most in a single season by a Yale player. She also ranks third all-time in goals (58) and sixth in points (123).

Ray was a dominant offensive-zone player, tallying 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points. She is tied for first in the league in game-winning goals (5) and averaged 1.41 points per game during league play. The Florida native put together an impressive 14-game point streak and finished in the top five in both goals and total points in the ECAC. Ray has made her mark on the Yale record book, finishing the regular season with the sixth-most single-season points in program history. She ranks third all-time on the Bulldogs' points list (137).

Frey led all rookie goaltenders in save percentage (.937) and ranked first among all goaltenders in fewest goals allowed (17) in the ECAC. A New York native, Frey led the nation in winning percentage (.933) and ranks second nationally in goals-against average (1.32), solidifying a remarkable debut season. Frey finished the regular season with a 14-1 record and five shutouts.

Gilkyson recorded five goals, including one power-play goal and one game-winner, along with nine assists for 14 points in 22 league games. The senior closed the regular season as the ECAC Hockey leader with 32 blocked shots, playing a key role in the program's second ECAC Hockey regular-season title.

The Bulldogs will host Union in the ECAC Quarterfinals in a best-of-three series. Puck drop for Game 1 at Ingalls Rink is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m.
