NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Following a strong weekend at the Ivy League Championship, five members of the Yale women's crew team garnered All-Ivy honors, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Harriet Drake-Lee and
Christina Bourmpou were selected to the First Team All-Ivy, while
Hope Galusha,
Nicole Martinez, and
Imogen Cabot earned Second Team recognition. All five athletes rowed in the first varsity eight, which secured a silver-medal finish at the championship with a time of 6:13.536. Additionally, the crew retained the Eisenberg Cup with a regular-season win over Princeton and picked up nine victories overall, with its only loss coming against Tennessee, who is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.
Galusha, a standout coxswain for the Bulldogs and a Cognitive Science major, has distinguished herself both in the classroom and on the water, also earning Academic All-Ivy accolades.
The Bulldogs, currently ranked No. 7 nationally, earned one of 12 at-large bids to the NCAA Championship and will return to competition May 29–31 at Lake Lanier Olympic Park in Gainesville, Georgia. The event will be hosted by Lake Lanier Olympic Park and the University of North Georgia. All three Yale crews enter the championship seeded among the top seven nationally, with the varsity eight seeded fifth, the second varsity eight sixth, and the varsity four seventh.
