Archer, Fonville, Guerrier, Spokes, White and Whitehurst Named CSC Academic All-District

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Six members of the Yale women's cross country and track and field teams were named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators (CSC) for 2025-26: The organization announced the awards on Tuesday.
 
Claire Archer
 
Archer, an economics major, was Yale's top finisher at the NCAA Cross Country Northeast Regional, placing 11th overall (20:17.0). She earned All-Region and first team All-Ivy League honors for cross country, along with the cross country team's MVP Award, for the second year in a row. Her Van Cortlandt Park 6K time for Ivy League Cross Country Heps (21:01.9) ranks No. 2 all-time at Yale.
 
In indoor track and field, Archer's 5K time of 16:19.99 ranks No. 6 on Yale's all-time list. Outdoors, she is eighth on Yale's all-time list for the 5K (16:21.04, 2025).
 
Archer's academic honors include Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, Academic All-Ivy League for cross country in 2025, Academic All-Ivy League for indoor track and field in 2025-26, Academic All-Ivy League for outdoor track and field in 2026, CSC Academic All-District in 2024-25 and USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete for cross country in 2024 and 2025.
 
In addition to her economics degree, Archer earned a certificate in data science. She has served as the director of alumni relations and cross country representative for the Yale Women's Athletic Council. She has had multiple internships in finance, and now works for Citi.
 
Archer is a graduate of Roosevelt High School.
 
Linde Fonville

Fonville, a biomedical engineering major, was among Yale's top five finishers at the NCAA Cross Country Northeast Regional (20:54.7, 45th overall). 
 
In indoor track and field, Fonville's mile time of 4:45.68 this season ranked No. 19 in the Northeast Region. She was part of the fifth-fastest distance medley relay in school history (11:28.24). That is one of three indoor relay times she has been a part of that rank among the school's top 10, including the fifth- and seventh-best DMR times and the 10th best 4x800m time. She also has the fifth-best 1000m time in Yale history (2:48.09).
 
Outdoors, Fonville's 1500m time of 4:19.72 ranks No. 5 at Yale. In 2025 she ran an 800m time that ranks ninth all-time at Yale (2:08.26). She is part of three of the top 10 4x800m relay team times in school history – including the fifth-best time (8:45.32), established this past season.
 
Fonville has worked as a researcher at Yale, developing 3D models of pediatric humeral fractures to inform surgical decisions. She also has held multiple internships in the medical field.
 
Fonville is a graduate of Charlotte Country Day.
 
Gloria Guerrier

Guerrier, a biomedical engineering major, set the Yale 400m record indoors (54.25, No. 8 in the Northeast Region). She also posted the eighth-best time on Yale's all-time list for the 200m indoors (25.05). She was part of the second-best indoor 4x400m relay all-time at Yale (3:41.43) – one of four 4x400m relay times among Yale's top 10 that Guerrier has been a part of in her three years here. She also has the second-best 500m time in school history (1:21.21, 2025).
 
Outdoors, Guerrier posted the second-best 400H time all-time at Yale (58.36). She competed in that event at the NCAA East First Round for the second straight year. Guerrier's 400m time of 54.19 from 2025 ranks third on Yale's all-time list.
 
Last year Guerrier was second team All-Ivy League in the 4x400m relay outdoors. She was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete for track and field in 2024-25 and earned the Yale team's Outstanding Newcomer Award in 2023-24.
 
Guerrier is the founder of TwinTutorly, a comprehensive educational platform providing one-on-one tutoring for 15 AP subjects, the SAT, and the ACT. She was awarded the Most Valuable Student scholarship from the Elk Foundation and serves as a representative on their Scholarly Advisory Board.
 
Guerrier is a graduate of West Hempstead Secondary School.


Sophie Spokes

Spokes, an ethics, politics and economics major, earned the team's Most Improved Award for 2026. Indoors, she posted the third-fastest 60m time in school history (7.55), the seventh-fastest 200m time in school history (24.98) and was part of Yale's No. 2 all-time 4x400 meter relay performance (3:41.43). 
 
Outdoors individually, Spokes ran the fifth-fastest 200m time (24.57) and the sixth-fastest 100m time (11.95) in school history. She was part of the school-record performance in the 4x100m relay (45.41) and the No. 2 all-time performance in the 4x400 meter relay (3:40.53). She also was part of relays that rank No. 5 (4x400m relay, 3:41.36) and No. 6 (4x100m relay, 46.18) all-time at Yale.  
 
Spokes is the founder and president of Yale Student-Athletes in Finance and has interned for Morgan Stanley. She is part of Females for Finance and is an interviewer for the Yale Innovators Student Media Network. She spent the summer of 2024 taking part in the IAU Institute for American Universities' French immersion program.
 
Spokes is a graduate of Lick-Wilmerding High School.
 
Makayla White
 
White, a history of science, medicine and public health major, is working on an MPH degree from the Yale School of Public Health. She served as Yale's captain this past season and earned the team's Stroube Family Award – presented annually to a member of the women's track and field team who exemplifies sportsmanship, courage and inspiration – for the second season in a row. She set the school record in the heptathlon (4902) outdoors, ranking No. 9 in the Northeast.
 
In her first two seasons on the team, White primarily competed in the 60m, 100m and 200m sprint events. Her 60m time indoors in 2023 (7.73) ranks 10th all-time at Yale. In the 2024-25 indoor season, she made her pentathlon debut at the UConn Husky Challenge, finishing seventh overall (2,881 points). In the spring of 2025, she delivered a seventh-place finish in the heptathlon at the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Track and Field Championships. 
 
White was a Global Health Scholar at Yale's Jackson School of Global Affairs. She was part of the Black Pre-Health Club and the Black Student Athlete Coalition at Yale, along with being a leader of Athletes in Action. She has held multiple internships in the medical field.
 
White is a graduate of the Hawken School.
 
Charlotte Whitehurst

Whitehurst, an electrical engineering major, was among Yale's top five finishers at the NCAA Cross Country Northeast Regional (20:54.6, 44th overall). 
 
Whitehurst earned the track and field team's Outstanding Distance Runner Award this past year. Indoors, her 5K time of 16:11.90 ranked No. 4 on Yale's all-time list and No. 10 in the Northeast Region. Outdoors, her 10K time of 34:22.62 ranked No. 5 on Yale's all-time list and No. 13 in the Northeast Region.
 
Whitehurst is a graduate of Phillips Academy – Andover.
