NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Collegiate Rowing Association announced its awards on Friday, honoring five Yale women's crew student-athletes as All-Americans.
Christina Bourmpou,
Harriet Drake-Lee, and
Nicole Martinez were named to the First Team, and
Imogen Cabot and
Hope Galusha were tabbed to the Second Team.
All five rowed in Yale's varsity eight that had a strong season capped off by a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championship, crossing the line in 5:53.412. Additionally, that crew secured a silver-medal finish at the Ivy League Championship, retained the Eisenberg Cup over Princeton, and was a part of sweeps against Syracuse, Cornell, Dartmouth, and Harvard-Radcliffe during the regular season.
Yale also had 12 student-athletes in
Mackenzie Ealson, Galusha,
Ailish Harkin,
Maeve Heneghan,
Anna Keating,
Alexa Lee,
Stine Hojager Nielsen,
Grace O'Connor,
Lucy Richardson,
Sus Tuder,
Alexa von der Schulenburg, and
Lindsey Williams.
The CRCA All-American Awards recognize the most outstanding collegiate rowers and coxswains across all NCAA divisions and the lightweight category. These athletes have demonstrated elite athletic performance, leadership, consistency, and dedication throughout the season, earning distinction among the top rowers in the nation.
To be eligible for Scholar Athlete honors, student-athletes must be in at least their second year of eligibility and maintaining an average cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Additionally, student-athletes must have rowed in their institution's NCAA eligible boats for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or race in an NCAA Boat at their conference or NCAA Championship.
