Volleyball Sweeps Ivy League Weekly Awards

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Senior middle blocker Laurece Abraham and first-year outside hitter Skylar Jackson swept the Ivy League weekly awards, taking home Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, as announced on Monday, Sept. 14.

In a 3-0 weekend at the UConn-hosted East Coast Challenge, Abraham racked up 37 kills on .448 hitting to go along with five solo blocks. Jackson continued to make an impact for Yale in her rookie season, finishing the East Coast Challenge with 23 kills, 31 digs and five total blocks.

Abraham is currently second in the conference in kills per set (3.05) and fourth in blocks per set (1.18).

At 6-0, the Bulldogs are in the midst of their best start of the Erin Appleman era and the first 6-0 start since 1998.

The Bulldogs will head down to Texas this weekend to face off against power conference opponents TCU on Sept. 18 and SMU on Sept. 19.
