New Haven, CT - Western Ontario scored the first two goals of the game, but Yale scored the final seven to post a victory in an exhibition game Saturday night at Ingalls Rink. Jean-Francois Boucher and Joe Zappala scored two goals each. The Bulldogs got 22 saves from Peter Cohen and 20 from Josh Gartner, who split time in net.

The Mustangs scored twice within the first 9:58 of the game, both on powerplays, as Kelly Paddon and Shawn Thompson beat Cohen. Yale's defense stiffened after that, and Zappala started the comeback with goals at 14:31 (shorthanded, assisted by Christian Jensen) and 16:47 (on a power play, assisted by Jensen and Matthew Craig). Brad Mills put the Elis up for good off a Blair Yaworski feed at 18:18.

Boucher had the lone goal of the second period, tallying at 9:08 on assists from Robert Page and Matthew Thomey. Gartner took over in net midway through the period.

Yale scored three times in the third to put the game out of reach. Robert Burns lit the lamp on a C.J. Nibbe assist at 7:21, and Boucher added another at 8:53 on a power play (assisted by Nate Jackson and Matt Cohen). Bill LeClerc finished off the scoring at 15:51, assisted by Zach Mayer.

Yale plays its season opener on Friday night at 7:00 against Alabama-Huntsville at Ingalls.
