COLLEGE PARK, Md. - A memorable season for the Yale women's lacrosse team came to an end Sunday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, as the No. 11 Bulldogs fell 13-7 to No. 5 Maryland.

The Terps broke open a game that was 4-2 at halftime by scoring six of the first seven goals of the second half. Maryland (16-3) used a 17-5 edge in draw controls, including 13 of 15 in the second half, to control the momentum for much of the game. Yale (13-4) got 13 saves from goalie Ellen Cameron but ultimately could not contain the powerful Terrapin offense.

Yale's goals came from Lauren Taylor (four), Marya Myers (two) and Lara Melniker (one). Jenn Warden had the lone assist on the day.
