ITHACA, N.Y. -- Several Bulldogs posted career-best performances and the Bulldogs completed a weekend road sweep with a 3-1 win at Cornell.  

The scores of the match were 25-17, 25-20, 13-25 and 25-20.  With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 4-1 in Ivy League play and jumped back into a tie for first place in the conference as the season heats up. Yale is set to host five straight league matches starting on Friday.

Frances Arnautou put up a career-best in both kills (7) and digs (38) and dished out 38 assists.  Chiara Spain added a career-high nine kills on 16 swings without an error to hit .562 and added six block assists, while Samantha Bray continued her solid hitting with nine kills at a .350 clip. 

Kelley Wirth and Ellis DeJardin both had eight kills for the Bulldogs, who entered the day fresh off a sweep at Columbia last night.  Yale held a 9-2 edge in service aces, including a career-best four from Gray Malias. 

Up 2-1 in the match and the fourth set tied at 20-20, Yale rattled off five straight points to close things out.  Ellis DeJardin gave Yale the lead and Kate Swanson followed with two straight aces before DeJardin provided a solo block to put the Bulldogs at match point. Arnautou set up Tristin Kott for the final point. 

The Bulldogs (10-4, 4-1 Ivy) won the first two sets to take control of the match.  Yale used a 9-1 run midway through the first set and went on to take the game.       

In the second set, Yale forced three straight attack errors to break a 19-19 tie and take a three-point lead. From there, it was a block party. Kott and Bray teamed up to make it 23-20, DeJardin and Bray added a block to get Yale to set point before Bray closed out the set with a solo.  

After taking four of five road matches to start the season, the Bulldogs will host their Ivy League home opener on Friday with a match against Dartmouth beginning at 7 p.m.
