Box Score Tim DeGraw had three hits for Yale in a 6-0 loss to Western Michigan on Sunday afternoon in Buies Creek, N.C.
DeGraw, a second-team All-Ivy selection last season, hit .389 (7 for 18) in four games this weekend.
Western Michigan (2-4) got on the board in the first with a two-out, no-one-on-base rally. Jimmy Roche singled to center and scored on a Nate Grys double.
Jesse Forestell singled home Grys to give Western Michigan a 2-0 lead.
DeGraw led off with a hit in the first and Alex Boos had a base hit in the second -- neither advanced. Yale (0-4) left five on base in the game.
Alex Stiegler started and went the first four innings for the Bulldogs. He struck out three and allowed three runs (two earned) without walking a batter.
Thomas Espig relieved Stiegler and pitched the next three innings. Espig struck out four and allowed two runs (one earned).
Griffin Dey and team captain Tom Ruddy also collected hits for the Bulldogs.
Sam Boies and Bobby Cecere pitched the last two inning respectively for Yale. Boies allowed a run, while Cecere pitched a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts.
For the weekend, Bulldogs' pitchers struck out 36 in 39 and 2/3 innings.
Yale returns to action on Friday to begin a three-game series at Virginia.
